Why this project mattered.
A brand-new restaurant has one shot at opening week. The moment the sign goes up, people start searching the name — and whatever Google finds in that window is the first impression. If the site isn't live, readable, and indexed before the doors open, opening-week demand lands on an empty search result.
Flip Side Burger Bar serves chef-inspired smash burgers in Rossville, GA, minutes south of downtown Chattanooga. The brief was simple and unforgiving: be live before day one — menu, hours, location, hiring — and make it all readable on a phone in the parking lot.
What Rad Sites Co built.
A fully custom 7-page site — no off-the-shelf theme, no page builder, no monthly platform fees. Hand-coded HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Here's what's under the hood:
Retro burger-bar brand
A bold, comic-pop look built around the restaurant's own mural, sign, and colors — the site feels like the room does.
52 items in JSON-LD schema
The full menu — burgers, sides, kids menu, beer & wine — marked up item by item so Google can read every dish, not just see a PDF.
Live before opening day
Built and shipped ahead of the opening, with the old placeholder domain cut over cleanly — searches for the name found the real site from day one.
Same-day menu updates
When the kitchen changes the menu, the site and its structured data ship the update together in one pass — same day, from the owners' own menu decks.
Real photos only
The space, the food, the arcade games — 17 real photos, no stock imagery, so people know exactly what they're walking into.
Gift cards & hiring
E-gift cards through the restaurant's POS, a careers page for staffing up, and tap-to-navigate hours & location on every visit path.
What a restaurant launch site actually needs.
This is the playbook the Flip Side build follows — and what any new restaurant should expect from a launch site:
- Live before the doors open. Opening-week searches are the cheapest customers you'll ever get — don't waste them.
- A menu Google can read. Structured data for every item, so the site can surface for dishes, not just the name.
- Real photos of the real room. People decide where to eat with their eyes.
- Hours, location, and the menu one tap deep. Most restaurant searches happen on a phone, mid-decision.
- A way to update fast. Menus change. A launch site that can't ship same-day edits goes stale in a month.
- Clean domain handling. If a placeholder site existed first, it has to redirect properly or Google splits the credit.
If people pick you with their eyes and their phone — and especially if you have an opening date bearing down on you — this is the play. The Flip Side build maps cleanly onto food & drink and other launch-day businesses:
New restaurants & bars
Menu, hours, photos, and hiring — live before opening day, when the searches start.
Established restaurants
A menu Google can actually read beats a PDF — and it updates the day the kitchen does.
Cafes, food trucks & counters
Phone-first sites for businesses people find mid-craving, not at a desk.
Any grand opening
Gyms, shops, venues — anywhere a launch date means search demand you only get once.
